Bakery Manager and Pastry Chef
Pastry Chef Yajaira Rodriguez came from humble beginnings. She was raised by her loving Grandmother and spent most of her time with her in the kitchen. This is where she developed her love for baking sweets, pastries and cakes from her homeland of Panama. Yajaira graduated from The New York Restaurant School in 2002 and The Art Institute in 2008. She graduated with certificates in both culinary and pastry arts. She then started working at The Beacon Restaurant as an assistant Pastry Chef where she prepared and assembled a variety of desserts.
The skills she gained at The Beacon Restaurant paved the way for her to become a Head Pastry Chef. Yajaira creates her own recipes which combine traditional European as well as American cuisines. Every cake and pastry she creates reflects her true passion and love of baking. Yajaira is excited to join our team at The Market and will be creating scratch baked goods and custom cakes.
